Sourdough Drop Biscuits

Yum! These are just the most delightful and buttery biscuits. They are crispy on the outside yet soft and savory on the inside. It also has a slight “tang” from the sourdough. I love how quickly you can whip them up!

You can make them into sausage biscuits, eat alongside some gravy, incorporate as a side dish to your dinner, or anything your heart desires. You can add in different fixin’s like cheese, bacon, etc. Also, don’t be afraid to play around with it and add in some essential oils to increased distinct flavors — wild orange, lemon, cinnamon,…

Check out how to make them:

Let’s chat sourdough real fast!

Any chance I get, I like to add sourdough to my recipes for the added gut-health benefit. You can add it to a wide variety of recipes from soups, to desserts, to even breads. Bread with sourdough have an improved flavor and texture.

Did you know that sourdough contains more than 50 species of lactic acid bacteria — heard of Lactobacillus? This is one of the many commensals (beneficial) bacteria that I look for in my GI Maps. Sourdough contains more than 20 species of yeast probiotics — like Saccharomyces. These guys do so much for supporting the immune systems and keeping the digestive tract lining strong.

The more we can add commensal (beneficial) bacteria to our diets, the stronger our bodies will be in defending and protecting itself. You can make this recipe without the sourdough, however these small ways towards preventative health added together can make a huge difference!
